Manhattan Family Photographer | Isabel turns 1

This past weekend I met up with Isabel for her 1 year shoot. We were able to mix it up with some indoor portraits and a few quick-and chilly- outdoor shots. The changes that take place from 6 months to 1 year of age are really quite astonishing to witness and I am so honored to document those milestones. This little lady has a fun loving disposition and is beyond sweet (she kept handing me little pieces of air....it was adorable). Hope you enjoy, happy 13 months!!

In-hospital documentation

So, now that I've had 2 babies in the past year and a half (insanity)- I've decided that I think its time to offer a new kind of shoot: in-hospital documentation.

I have to say, some of my favorite pictures to look back at are the ones I took while in the hospital after my babies were born. Those days are sort of a blur, and the amount of special memories that happen in that short amount of time are pretty crazy. Right?! For us, my husband did more documenting with our first- capturing all the visitors that came and the nurse that helped deliver our daughter. I love looking back on those images. With our second, he was delivered via an emergency c-section so we didn't get to document quite as many images. But we did get a few gems and in the end that's all that matters. So here I am, blabbing about why I want to offer this to you. Its such an awesome experience, and I think it should be forever frozen in time through images. What I'm going to offer is something like this: 1 hour of coverage either the day after you deliver or when you are feeling up for it (and are in the hospital still). The hour will be devoted to photojournalistic documentation of you, your family with your new little one. This package will also include 25 images printed up in a beautiful coffeetable book. Memories you can keep for a lifetime in a book you can re-vist with your little one for years to come.

Pricing and more will soon be listed on my website, I'll let you know via my facebook fanpage when that's up. And while I'm at it- here are the few gems I managed to snap this time around. The one of me with the baby was done with my i-phone, and I know I can do a lot better with my real camera and NOT after a surgery!

New Jersey family photographer | winter engagement shoot

I was super excited to get out earlier this month to do a wintery engagement shoot with my brother and his fiance. We planned the shoot just after a snow storm so the ground was fresh with the white fluffy stuff. The approach to the shoot was to keep it fun while mixing traditional portraits with more natural candid shots. Hope you enjoy the snippet of wintery love.

fall scheduling information: maternity leave has begun

Hey guys!

I'm officially making the announcement...we're having a baby next month and I'm beginning my maternity leave now. What that means is I will no longer be shooting portrait sessions, however- I will be placing orders and prepping any other items you may want during the fall. Such items include: birth announcements, holiday cards (if we did a shoot this year and you'd like to use the images for your holiday card, or any holiday gifts from portrait sessions done already (canvas prints, etc). Turn around time will be a little slower once the baby comes (mid - October), but I will make sure any orders placed by Nov. 5 are out the door by Dec. 5. Orders placed after Nov. 5 may take a little longer but I will try my best!

I will miss seeing all of my old clients this fall, as some of you know this is the "busy season" -- when I get to see old friends and how much their little ones have grown! Please stay in touch and if you get a chance send me a photo of your family. I'll be back to work in the spring and hope to see you in 2014. If anything changes and if I get the urge to do a wintery snow shoot in January or February I'll be sure to post it on my facebook fanpage and website.

In other news, here's a recent picture of our 16 month old daughter! She's quite a piece of work :)

New Jersey Family Photography | family traditions

This weekend I got to do something a little different for my family photo shooting. On Saturday I met up with some friends for their annual family portraits, and after we captured their traditional images- we moved inside for some breakfast. Every weekend these guys all get together in the kitchen to whip up some delicious pancakes- as a family. What better than to capture this tradition and the memories they make on camera, right?! I'm loving how they turned out, and I might have to copy this idea and do the same when my little ones are old enough. Enjoy!

Connecticut Family Photographer | fun in the garden

This weekend I met up with one of my favorite families for their annual portraits. Love spending time with these guys, and I was so touched that they were willing to drive to ME this year since I'm pretty pregnant and a trip to Connecticut would be a tad much. As always I'm loving their session and all of the wonderful memories we captured. Hope you enjoy my blog selections!

Hoboken newborn photographer | Maddox

This week I had the pleasure of photographing an adorable newborn, Maddox. I was so excited to meet him, and to catch up with his parents and older brother. So much has changed within the past year - mainly the addition of Maddox to their family. Hope you enjoy this snippet of our shoot.

New Jersey Family Photographer | Farm chic

Last night I met up with my super talented artist friend and fellow blogger of The Asylum for her annual family portraits. This year we wanted an equestrian look, but of course with a twist! I believe Catherine took it to the next level with the chic outfits everyone wore juxtaposed with our earthy surroundings. I had so much fun working with the whole gang, her kids are amazing in front of the camera (as are the parents!). So happy with the outcome- hopefully you enjoy the eye candy!

New Jersey Family Photographer | flowery fun

So. I found my new favorite place: Kittatinny State Park. Oh. My. God. Its so magical looking right now with the fields of wild flowers- its like a dream coming to life. I was very excited to head to this place with one of my favorite families--these guys were dressed so perfectly for the surroundings. I can't believe how old Grace and Georgia are getting, I've been shooting them since they were babies. Where does the time go? Hope you like my preview....

Hoboken Newborn Photographer | Lila, 9 days old

Yesterday I met up with little miss Lila Wren and her family for her very first photo shoot. Lila was so alert, I swear she didn't want to miss the party so she did her very best to stay awake the whole time. Its like she knew she was getting her picture taken and wanted to be sure she was giving her best face at all times. OK, so maybe we got her to sleep for a few minutes....just enough time to capture some super sweet peaceful poses!
