new jersey family photographer | love of a lifetime

We just got back from a wonderful vacation down in Florida with our family. I'm so grateful for our little getaway, it was just what we needed after such a long winter. While away, I had the chance to photograph my grandparents, who have been married for 70 years. They're such amazing people who have seen so much in their lifetime, and I am beyond honored to have photographed them for their upcoming anniversary party. I had to share the pictures because they are so adorable.

Hoboken Newborn Photographer | Landon, 7 days old

Today I photographed a very handsome 7 day old baby boy. He was a total dreamboat....not only was this baby boy super cute, but he also had a mellow personality that was beyond totally adorable. I had so much fun photographing him, I mean, between the face and the yawn expressions - who wouldn't be in heaven?!

Totally looking like his dad (see above shot complete with dad vintage portrait).

New Jersey Family Photographer | Cole's 1 year shoot

Today I met up with Cole and his parents for his one year photo shoot. I was so excited that we got to do the shoot outdoors, showcasing all of the fabulous snow we got just days ago (winter shoots are my personal favorite, partially because I love shooting in snow!). Cole is such a cutie pie, he was all smiles, mixed with lot of intense studies of the landscape surrounding him. The mix of facial expressions was perfect "baby model face". The bottom line is that I am totally obsessed with the outcome. Hope you agree!

New Jersey Newborn Photographer | winter light

The other day I met up with my girlfriend who's due on Tuesday (can  you believe it?!). I packed my camera with me, thinking if she was feeling up to it- I'd love to snap a picture of her belly before the baby arrives. I was so happy that she was totally down with the idea, so before I left, we gathered our little ones and I snapped this shot of her in her front yard. It was bitterly cold out, my baby girl was strapped to the front of me the ergobaby (her head kept blocking my lens!). This mamma-to-be's son was running around the yard like a little wild indian. We may  not have gotten a perfect shot of her with her son, AND the bump...but we did capture this special picture. You'd never know the chaos that was going on behind the scenes! Love the wintery light shining down on her.

New Jersey Family Photographer | outdoor winter shoot

Although yesterday seemed a bit gloomy, it was actually quite warm for a winter shoot, and the lighting was soft and lovely for pictures. I met up with the sweetest little sisters for their first ever "professional" portraits (they were naturals, as to be expected with faces like this). There was lots of frolicking and posing going on, and I'm loving the end results. Hope you enjoy the sneak peak.

2013 shooting schedule

I'd first like to thank you all for an awesome 2012 fall portrait season, it was so great seeing you and meeting new folks. Now, as some of you know, I had a baby girl last April. Being a mom has been an amazing journey so far, and coming back to work in September was a wonderful, creative outlet for me. The 2012 fall season was jam packed with lots of shoots and having had no previous experience of juggling a new baby and running a full time photography business, I realized it was too much for 1 person to handle. As a result, I've had to rethink my portrait schedule. With that said, my 2013 shooting schedule will consist of 6 shoots per month (no more than that, no exceptions--sorry!). Shoots will take place in 1 designated location 2 Saturdays per month (rain dates will be Sunday). I will shoot 3 families per saturday at the designated location. If you have already purchased a Watch Me Grow package, I highly suggest you contact me as soon as possible to get on my schedule. This will go in to effect in March 2013. Also, if you purchased a gift certificate, please contact me right away to be sure you can get in on a saturday session. Since newborn shoots are so time consuming and take place in your home, they can't be done on Saturdays. Newborn shoots will only take place on a week day, and I plan on accepting a very minimal number of newborn shoots per year.

This is a temporary schedule change, not permanent by any means. When I am ready to take on more, I will let you all know. My main concern is being sure I can give 100% of myself to you and  your family without compromising my creative process. I plan on continuing with my Connecticut Spring/Fall Portrait days as well!

....and finally, here is a recent photo of my baby girl. This was one of the photos taken for her holiday card, as you can imagine she had many "looks" for the shoot.

Happy 2013!
