New York Botanical Garden Wedding | Sarah + Jon

Its crazy to think that seven years ago my  husband and I started photographing weddings together, and that this past weekend we shot our last and final wedding. Its bittersweet since we truly love documenting such special day for our clients- our friends...but at the same time I am ready to focus solely on portraiture. What a fabulous way to finish off the end of such a chapter in our lives by capturing a new chapter in the lives of Sarah and Jon. Not only are these guys totally awesome, but their friends and family are too. Having so many special people supporting them on this day made it magical to watch. The gardens where in full bloom, the weather held out the entire time we were outside shooting and the results are breathtaking. Enjoy!

NYC Portrait Photographer | Proposal in Central Park

Last weekend we headed to Central Park, to capture a wedding proposal. This was a first for us, which meant a high level of excitement+ adrenaline since we didn't know what to expect. We got to the park early and scouted out the "area" the proposal would take place. It was a secluded spot with special meaning for Gregory and Hayley (the lovebirds we were about to take pix of) --right near The Boathouse, on the shoreline of the lake. We originally wanted to be across the lake, sniper stye--but when we arrived we saw just how overgrown the trees were and we realized there was no way we'd be able to see anything. So we took a chance and camped out within feet from where they'd be. Gregory sent me a text when they were getting close, and we took our places.  My husband was practically right next to them, acting like he was taking pictures of birds or something...and I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off in the woods trying to find a spot that wasn't totally blocked by bushes. Once I found a spot with a good vantage point the paparazzi-ing began. It was such an amazing experience to witness...these guys are very much in love. I couldn't help but get chills watching everything unfold. Hopefully the pictures tell the story of the moment. I don't even think Hayley knows we were there taking the pictures to this very moment. This blog entry may be her first realization. How special is that?

Props to you Gregory, for being thoughtful enough to have it forever captured in pictures as well as in your hearts!

Central Park Family Portraits | Jordan's 1 year Shoot

Last night I headed to Central Park to meet up with Jordan and his family for his one year portraits. The session started out sunny and beautiful and as we meandered through the park...the weather took a crazy turn. A heavy downpour popped up out of nowhere, and we had to take cover under a tree. Talk about a memorable experience! As the rain subsided a beautiful rainbow appeared and the sun cast a gorgeous golden light on us. We didn't let the rain slow us down, and we continued our shoot. This was definitely a first for me-but I'm so happy we experienced it. It makes the pictures that much more fun!

Manhattan Family Photographer | Misty Beach

Here is my final shoot from last week's East Hampton excursion. The moment the session began the fog rolled in...creating a blanket of softness. We worked through the weather, despite the fact that by the end of the hour...it was hard to see 8 feet in front of you, and we had wet hair. Regardless of mother nature...artistic beauty prevailed!

Manhattan Family Photographer | beach baby

On Thursday morning I met up with Anna and her mom at their beach house in Amagansett. The last time I saw Anna was 1 year ago, for her newborn shoot. What a difference a year makes...now she's all smiles (with teeth!), waving and clapping- and beginning to walk. We had a beautiful, sunny morning-allowing us to splash in the water and play in the sand. Enjoy the fun...

Manhattan Family Photographer | Summer's at the beach

My second shoot this week was with the family that actually convinced me to head out to East Hampton in the first place. They go every summer, so its a place close to their hearts...holding so many memories for them. We met up at sunset, the fog started to return-but it only created a nice soft feel to the beachy pictures. Love how everything turned out, woo hoo!

Manhattan Family Photographer | Asher's Beach Shoot

This week I headed to East Hampton for some summer beach shoots. My first portrait session of the week was with Asher and his parents. We met early in the morning at Main Beach, the fog was thick-but that didn't stop of from having a great time. I've actually really been wanting to shoot on the beach in fog-I guess mother nature was listening to my wishes! Here is a little preview of our time together, enjoy!

Wedding Album Gift

Last month we attended a friends wedding in Colorado. As a wedding gift to them, I designed a 12x12 album with the pictures we took. This album is available for any photo shoot (Watch Me Grow packages, seasonal shoots, engagement shoots, whatever!). I had to share on the blog with you guys because it's really fun!! Now its time to ship the album on its merry way :)

Connecticut Maternity Photographer | Facebook Biggest Fan Winnner!

This afternoon I met up with Tiffany and Matt for their maternity shoot. Tiffany won my "facebook biggest fan" contest a few months back, so she was given a free photo shoot (it pays to be my biggest fan!). They are due at the end of July - I was super excited to see these guys again. It seems like just yesterday we were shooting their 10/10/10 wedding at St. Clements Castle. Enjoy the shots from the day, and congratulations!

Hoboken Family Photographer | Noah's 2 year shoot

This morning I met up with Noah and his parents for a shoot on the water in Hoboken. It was a pretty cool setting, the fog was laying thick on the river, making the skyline look like a hazy and muted color-scape. The greenery in the park had a rain forest vibe too, which was neat. We did a full lap of the area before the rain started to fall, and in that time frame Noah was able to explore and play and we got lots of great pictures. Enjoy!
